Frequently asked questions

Do you offer in-office visits also?

Currently, Thrive Lact Love focuses on in-home lactation consulting to provide personalized support in the comfort of your own environment. This allows us to observe and assist you and your baby in your natural setting. But we do offer in office visits for parents who may prefer that option! Or for a more convienient option take a look at our telehealth options, please refer to our Consultation Fees page.

Is my baby getting enough milk?

This is a very common and important question! During our consultations, we will discuss feeding patterns, diaper output, and baby's weight gain to assess milk intake. We'll provide personalized guidance and reassurance, helping you understand the signs of adequate milk transfer and how to build confidence in your breastfeeding journey.

What can I do to help increase my milk supply at home?

There are many strategies to boost milk supply! We'll explore techniques like frequent and effective milk removal, optimizing latch, power pumping, and nutritional considerations. We'll work together to create a personalized plan that fits your lifestyle and helps you meet your breastfeeding goals.

Can I join a class even though my baby is a few months old?

Absolutely, yes! We are here to help any parent on whatever journey you find yourself currently on. As feeding needs change and adapt depending on a lot of factors, all are welcome. Our classes and support groups are designed for moms at various stages of their breastfeeding journey.

Do you offer a bundle service discount for multiple sessions?

We understand that breastfeeding can sometimes require ongoing support. Please reach out to us directly  to discuss potential package options or discounts for multiple follow-up visits, as these are handled on a case-by-case basis. You can also view our Consultation Fees for standard pricing.

Is my extreme nipple pain normal?

While some discomfort can be common in the early days of breastfeeding, extreme or persistent nipple pain is not normal and is often a sign that something needs to be addressed. We can assess latch, positioning, and other factors to identify the cause of the pain and provide solutions to make your feeding experience comfortable and enjoyable.

What are some key things you always want people to know about your services?

We are a safe space; don't hold back any concerns or questions you may have. We won't ever judge you at Thrive Lact Love! Our goal is to empower you with knowledge, build your confidence, and create a supportive community. We want you to feel heard, understood, and completely comfortable sharing your experiences with us.

Besides costs, what else do people often wonder about when booking a consultation or joining a class?

Many parents wonder if partners are encouraged to attend classes – and the answer is a resounding yes! We believe partner involvement is crucial for a supportive breastfeeding journey. We also often get asked about the best time to book a prenatal class, which we recommend attending in your third trimester.
